My name is Anne Hopkinson, and I use she/her pronouns. After years of working in various clinical settings, I now serve as the Associate Director of Training in the Counseling Center at Middlebury College, where I bring my experience in clinical work, supervision, and program management to support the development of our Post Graduate Interns and student body.

With over 15 years of experience as a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, I have specialized in working with emerging adults, including many students from Middlebury College. In my private practice, I focus on supporting young adults navigating developmental challenges, and I have a particular passion for working with the LGBTQ community, especially trans and nonbinary individuals. My previous role as Director of PREP, a federally funded program for young adults in crisis, allowed me to hone my skills in managing programs, supervising teams, and developing policies to better support individuals facing mental health challenges.

I’m also fully trained in Open Dialogue, DBT, and CBT, with a trauma-sensitive and social justice-oriented approach to my work. I am naturally network focused and am deeply committed to fostering strong, collaborative relationships with in and outside of Middlebury College.

I’m a native Vermonter, a parent of three children, and a foster parent. I grew up in Middlebury, and my deep connection to this community has shaped both my personal and professional life. Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my dog, seeing live art performances, and reading. I’m excited to be in a role where I can continue to support the College’s mission and contribute to the growth and success of the Middlebury community and the next generation of mental health professionals.
