As Director of Exploratory Initiatives & Partnerships, Bob is involved in a range of projects and activities at the intersection of learning, technology, and community. In addition to overseeing the management of resources in the Digital Learning Commons and Design Space at the Institute, Bob provides support for web tools and platforms such as Canvas, WordPress, Course Hub, and Zoom. He also contributes to conversations about emerging teaching practices and methods, and seeks opportunities to explore practices and tools that might further enhance the student learning experience in face-to-face, hybrid or online environments.

Bob grew up in the Monterey Bay area and holds an MA in TESOL from the Institute. With over ten years of teaching experience, he developed a passion for teaching community- and project-based ESL as an instructor in the Institute’s Intensive ESL Program, often experimenting with the new ways to integrate web, digital media, and emerging collaboration tools. In addition to teaching, Bob served as the Director of Intensive English Programs from 2002-2007.
