Open to the Public

The first Global California Conference was given at Cisco Systems in Silicon Valley in 2003, and since then the last ten statewide annual conferences have focused on the issues and solutions of job creation through the promotion of bilateral trade and investment between California and the global marketplace.

Over the years the Global California conferences have been conducted in Los Angeles, Sacramento, Oakland, Silicon Valley and Santa Cruz and have attracted an array of high-level businesspeople and economic development officials from both the public and private sectors in California and from invited guests from around the world.

This year’s 12th annual Global California conference will take place in Spring 2016 and focus on the trade and investment opportunities between the 21 countries of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

The conference will feature discussions on the ‘pros and cons’ of the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) agreement, a special panel on the emergence of the ‘cyber silk road’ now being paved between China and California, as well as an expert panel on the emergence of the new ‘blue economy’ and its importance to the APEC nations.
