Authors Hour - featuring John Balcom

John has been translating Chinese literature, philosophy and children’s books for three decades. He has won an NEA Fellowship for Translation, two Northern California Book Awards, and the Science Fiction and Fantasy Translation Award. As both an editor and translator, he brings a rich awareness of Chinese and Taiwanese culture to create exquisite volumes of poetry, thought-provoking collections of stories, and inspirational literature. An opportunity to hear about the art of literary translation from one who has mastered it.
