ChatGPT has come into academia with great force. What’s been written about this tool covers a wide range, from doom and gloom to prognostications of great, creative change. ChatGPT is a disruptor in a good sense. Educators are being asked to reflect on practice, and come to an understanding about how to creatively work with the tool, the first of many to come in this second wave of technological innovation, the AI Revolution.
The WRPR, DLINQ, and the CTLR have received questions from faculty pertaining to ChatGPT and how to address its potential, good and bad, in courses. We want to respond before syllabi are completed for the Spring 2023 term.
In a first in a series, on January 27, 2023, from 1:30 – 2:45 in the Media Lab (Lib 220) and on Zoom, we will hold an interactive session that will address the following topics:
Getting to know ChatGPT
Language about ChatGPT for the syllabus
Some approaches to using ChatGPT in your courses
