The Knoll, Middlebury College’s garden and mindfulness space, is a three-acre plot with vegetables, fruits, and flowers stewarded by Middlebury students. The Knoll serves as an inclusive space that supports students’ holistic development in an environment that promotes discourse about world food issues. While growing rows of tomatoes for Atwater Dining Hall or visiting Vermont farms, students come to understand some of the challenges associated with food production, and explore locally- and organically-based solutions. The farm is located in the field behind McCardell Bicentennial Hall. Walk or drive down the hill (going west) from the College on Route 125. You can park at the corner of Bicentennial Way and Route 125 (at the solar panels) and walk down the garden path, or continue driving over the rise, then take a right at the sign for the Knoll at 152 VT Route 125.
