The Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs presents “Globalizing Traditional Medicine and Knowledge Today” with Sena Voncujovi ‘17.
Traditional medicine is not a relic of the past; it is a blueprint for the future. In this talk, Sena Voncujovi will share his journey as a third-generation healer steeped in the Ewe Vodu and Afa (Ifa) herbal traditions of West Africa and as a researcher evaluating the relevance of traditional Chinese medicine in rejuvenating African healthcare. Grounded in his thesis work on Ghana’s COVID-era response, he explores how healing practices adapt across three continents. The session culminates in a look at the cutting edge: how these ancient systems are informing modern AI and robotics in Macau, proving that the globalization of medicine is a living, breathing, and technologically integrated evolution.
