Goitse

Come celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with the award-winning Celtic quintet Goitse (a Gaelic word for “come here,” pronounced “Go-wit-cha”). Named Live Ireland’s “Traditional Group of the Year” and Chicago Irish American News’ “Group of the Year,” Goitse is leading the new generation of traditional Irish ensembles. Their distinctive sound lies in the quality of their original compositions, interspersed with age-old traditional tunes, making each performance unique.

About the Artists:
Goitse has released six critically acclaimed recordings and maintains a year-round touring schedule that includes performances throughout Ireland, the UK, Germany, France, and the United States. Musicians include World and All-Ireland Bodhra´n champion Colm Phelan; Conal O’Kane, who is fast making a name for himself as one of the finest guitarists of his generation; the sweet, charismatic voice of A´ine Mc Geeney; multi-instrumentalist Alan Reid on the banjo, bouzouki, and more; and All-Ireland Champion Daniel Collins, known for his distinctively intricate bass work on accordion.
