ENVS 0401 Senior Seminar Presentations
Students in Professor Marc Lapin’s section of ENVS 0401 will present their project work related to the course theme of Designing a Model Landscape for Achieving Multiple Values. Working with partners from the College’s Office of Sustainability Integration, the Dean of Environmental Affairs, and the Lands Advisory Committee, students focused on the roughly 3,000 acres of College-owned lands in the Champlain Valley (not including the main campus and in-town real estate). They designed aspects of a management plan focused on the values of water quality maintenance and enhancement, biological diversity conservation, agriculture/food production, forest products, and energy generation, as well as “overlying” values including resilience, recreation, education, and aesthetics.
