High-performance computing (HPC) empowers users to perform complex calculations in parallel. HPC increases the speed and efficiency of computer simulations and data analysis through aggregated computing power and memory. This session will introduce Middleury’s “ada” HPC cluster, including access and use with the Slurm queuing software. Slurm manages job processing and ensures fair access. Basic familiarity with the linux command line will be assumed. This session pairs well with both The Terminal and the Command Line workshop on June 7 and 9, 2022, and the Linux at Middlebury workshop on June 21, 2022, although those workshops are not a prerequisite.
