Taiko drummer standing at large, elevated drum

Join Burlington Taiko Founder and Artistic Director Stuart Paton for an exciting workshop designed to invigorate body and spirit, bridge international cultures, and rebuild the sense of community that was diminished during the pandemic. Since 1987, Burlington Taiko has been mesmerizing audiences with the powerful, spellbinding and propulsive sounds of the Taiko drums. Burlington Taiko Group estimates it has introduced over half a million people to the power of Taiko via performances from the Boston Marathon toBurlington’s First Night to the Black Ships Festival in Newport, RI, and more. Participants and spectators welcome. Those wishing to participate should wear in loose-fitting exercise clothes. All equipment is provided. No previous experience is necessary.

Presented as part of a weeklong residency with Burlington Taiko in honor of the Mahaney Arts Center’s 30th anniversary, culminating in free public outdoor performances on the MAC back lawn (Friday 9/30 at 4:30 and 5:30 PM; Saturday 10/1 at 2:00 and 3:00 PM).

Vaccinations and boosters (or valid medical or religious exemptions) required. Masks optional (but welcome!) except under certain conditions.
