The Redefining Education in International Development (REID) club strives to supplement the few International Educational Development (IED) themed workshops and classes offered through the new and highly innovative International Education Management (IEM) program. Our monthly events will bring expert academics and practitioners in the fields of International Development and Education to campus to discuss various topics of interest where they intersect (i.e. education for sustainable development, textbook translation and localization, teacher training, education in emergencies, adult literacy, fighting terrorism with education, vocational training, girls’ education, etc.). We envision our club connecting all students from all degree tracks to real world IED professionals in the hopes of expanding our networks, supplementing our MIIS educations and encouraging our IEM program to include more IED content into its course catalog. So, join us for our next club meeting to see how you can be a part of REID and, in the inciting words of our IEM Program Chair Dr. Punteney, “make MIIS work for you!”
