In this moment of environmental, political, and social change, what are the stories of “now”? Who is doing the telling?  And why does it matter?

Carolyn Finney, Middlebury scholar and Franklin Environmental Center at Hillcrest artist-in-residence, invites award-winning Black filmmakers Andre Lambertson (Charm City) and Zaire Love (Slice) to lean into a conversation about documenting the human experience, our collective history, and making visible what has been unseen, dismissed and discarded. What does it take to capture the rhythm of Black life, past and present? Any life, past and present? What is the responsibility of the storyteller? How do they envision a future possible that is liberatory and transformative?  Bring your questions, curiosity and open minds.
