Transnational Issues in the Maritime Domain
The MIIS Geospatial Skills and Analytical Tools (GSAT) Club and the Terrorism Studies Club (TSC) hosts Captain Timothy Doorey, USN (Ret.), and his presentation on Transnational Issues in the Maritime Domain. CAPT Doorey is the Program Manager for the Center for Civil-Military Relations’ (CCMR) Maritime Security Program at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). In this capacity CAPT Doorey works to develop and conduct educational courses for international military students on issues relevant to civil-military and multinational approaches to maritime security. Specific issues of relevance include terrorism, piracy, IUU finishing, and organized crime.
Prior to his current work at CCMR, CAPT Doorey had an extensive naval intelligence career in the United States Navy. CAPT Doorey served in numerous roles including assignment to the Pentagon’s Joint Staff Intelligence Directorate, as Special Assistant to NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Atlantic (SACLANT) and Commander, U.S. Atlantic Command, and as Senior Intelligence Officer at the Naval Postgraduate School. Additional experiences include sea duty aboard various aircraft carriers and direct support for operations in Lebanon, Grenada, El Salvador, Panama, Bosnia, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
