Come share in “A Ritual for Peace: the Aesthetics of Haitian Vodou” in Coltrane Lounge on November 5th from 7-10pm, where Houngan Jean-Sebastien Duvilaire and his spiritual family “Sosyete Nago” directed by Manbo Marie Evans will invite people into a traditional vodou-style prayer in Creole and Vodou language, with live drumming, song, and dance. 

White attire is encouraged.

Parker Merrill Speech Competition, Semifinal Round

In this semifinal round for Middlebury’s speech competition dating back to 1825, twelve students will compete for the chance to advance to the April 16 Grand Championship, where the Middlebury College Speaker of the Year will be crowned and awarded a top prize of $500.

In this Middlebury tradition dating back to 1825, twelve semifinalists will deliver their 3-minute speeches without notes to a general audience. Three faculty judges will choose six speakers to advance to the April 16, 2020 Parker Merrill Grand Championship.

Please join Women in Health Sciences club as we welcome Porter Medical Center Obstetrics and Gynecology doctors to speak to our club! Some topics of discussion include how being a female affected their medical journey and job, what it is like to be a doctor in Vermont, and advice they would give to students aspiring to be involved in healthcare. There will be ample time for Q&A with the audience! The event is open to all genders and backgrounds.
