We’re delighted to release our community sourced book filled with memories, photos, art, and poetry submitted by 60+ alumni, students, faculty, staff, and friends. Light refreshments provided, followed by a short program and readings from contributors.

Poets Emily Lee Luan (‘15), Leslie Sainz (Managing Editor, New England Review), and Margaret Ray (‘07) will read from their new collections. More information can be found on the English Department events webpage.

Remarks and awards for seniors and their families in the Abernethy room (221) with a joint reception in the Axinn Center Winter Garden at 4:30 p.m.

In this new series, Middlebury professors Linsey Sainte-Claire (French) and Enrique García (Luso-Hispanic Studies) will discuss their BIPOC Research and Teaching in Middlebury College. Their focus will be their scholar and pedagogical approaches to Henri Christophe, one of the most important nationalist figures in Haiti’s history.

“What is ‘Digital Humanities,’ and Why are They Saying Such Terrible Things about It?” by Matthew Krischenbaum. The broad purpose of the Humanities Lunch Exchange is to encourage conversation about the humanities in the community, particularly among faculty and staff, in order to broaden understanding, to promote friendship, and to have fun. The December Humanities Lunch Exchange will be on, “Communications Priorities: The Role of the Humanities.” A discussion with Bill Burger, Vice President for Communications, about the marketing and promotion of the Humanities at Middlebury.

It’s Middlebury College’s very first improv jam, probably! Head on over to the Axinn Abernethy Room at 8 pm this Thursday for some fun, low-stakes improv. We’ll be putting everyone’s names in a hat, and creating totally random improv teams for some extra exciting fun! Hosted by The Otter Nonsense Players and Middlebrow, It’ll be a blast. See you there.
