Localization for the Chinese Market

Frank Wei is the CEO and President of Master Translation Services (MTS), a language service provider headquartered in China. He founded MTS in 2000. The company currently has 80 in-house linguists and seven branch offices in mainland China, Taiwan and USA. MTS ranks among the CSA Global 100 LSPs in 2017. In this session, Frank will present the current state of the localization industry in China.

Langtrepreneurship: Entrepreneurship in the Language Industry

This lecture will present entrepreneurship as a viable option for language students and explores different paths to entrepreneurship. The lecture will first present the ecosystem and the labor market in the language industry. This lecture will highlight critical skills that students need in preparation for the workforce of tomorrow. We will discuss each common career path briefly and then lay out the paths to entrepreneurship.
