Bone Marrow Donor Registry Drive

Help patients battling blood cancers by joining the Bone Marrow Donor Registry. Joining only takes 5 minutes and includes a cheek swab and minor paperwork. Tables will be set up in the entrance of the library and in the great hall in BiHall. Bone marrow transplants provide life saving treatment for patients with blood cancer. One in 430 donors are matched with patients. Donating bone marrow is as simple as getting your blood drawn. Come grab a cookie from Otter Creek Bakery and potentially save a life!

Come join a casual conversation with Ben Wessel ’11.5 about the importance of getting college students to vote and ways to get involved here on campus and beyond during the next election season. Ben Wessel is the Director of NextGen Rising, the youth vote organizing program of NextGen America. In 2016, Ben was named one of the “16 Young Americans Shaping the 2016 Election” by Rolling Stone magazine.

Trauma Basics with Dr. Meagan Corrado

This interactive training with Dr. Meagan Corrado, Founder of Storiez Trauma Narratives, provides foundational information about trauma including trauma types, trauma prevalence rates, and the consequences of trauma exposure. It explores pathways to trauma healing and highlights the importance of post-traumatic growth, neuroplasticity, resilience, and reparative experiences.

Center for Community Engagement's Patrick Durkin '79 Public Service Leadership Awards

The Center for Community Engagement will celebrate the 29th Annual Public Service Leadership Awards on May 4, 2022 from 7:00-8:30 p.m. at the Kirk Alumni Center and on Zoom. Please RSVP today at go.middlebury.edu/psla22 (April 25 preferred deadline to ensure Zoom link access if remote, or a name tag if in person, but we will keep RSVPs open until April 29). Honored awardees will be invited to make a donation to a non-profit of their choice. We will follow current campus Covid guidelines at the in-person event, which at this time includes optional masking.

Come to our Privilege & Poverty Monthly discussion over environmental policy in the state of Vermont. We will be hosting a discussion with a local policymaker, who will speak about developments in the state legislature over efforts for making environmental policy in Vermont.
