The American Chemical Society - Middlebury Student Chapter, a new fully approved student organization, will host a kick-off welcome party on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 6:30 PM in the McCardell Bi Hall 5th Floor East Lounge (by the elevators). At this party, you will find out more about ACS Midd and how to get involved.

Departments of Biology and Chemistry & Biochemistry joint reception for graduating seniors and their guests, including Molecular Biology & Biochemistry, Environmental Studies-Conservation Biology and Environmental Studies-Chemistry seniors.

Guest Lecture given by Mark Esposito ‘11, Ph.D., Princeton, titled, “Endosteal Niche E-selectin Induces Mesenchymal-Epithelial Transition and Wnt Activation in Cancer Cells to Promote Bone Metastasis. Mark will meet with students with more questions immediately following the lecture.

Prof. Alison Frontier, Ph.D., University of Rochester, will give a research talk, titled “Navigational Surprises in Organic Synthesis”. She will meet with students immediately after the lecture to answer questions and share about graduate school at the University of Rochester.

Professor Barney Ellison, Ph.D., University of Colorado, Boulder, will give a guest lecture, titled, “Climate Change and Renewable Energy”. A question and answer session for students will be held immediately following the lecture.

Professor Nicole LaRonde, Ph.D., University of Maryland, will give a guest lecture, titled, “The RIO Kinases: Structure, Function and Inhibition.” There will be a Question and Answer period for students immediately following the lecture.
