QAAAM "MIIS Coming Out Story" Video Installation

As a means of marking National Coming Out Week, Queers and Allies at MIIS (QAAAM) invites you to experience the courage of our community in living our lives in the most authentic way possible: out and proud.

QAAAM is presenting a video installation of personal coming out stories, told either first-person by MIIS queers or through a MIIS ally allows the broader campus community to walk a mile in our shoes.

Practical Karate and Self Defense for Students

In this class, students will learn the basics of Japanese Karate (punching, striking, kicking) and its practical application in common self-defense scenarios. In addition to the physical components of self-defense, we will discuss the elements of self-defense and how the law defines those elements. This will include discussing the legal concepts of assault and battery. The overall goal of this class is to develop awareness (situational and physical), confidence, and risk prevention. Expect to sweat a bit so wear your workout clothes.
