In honor of Earth Week, Aquatic Activities Club is partnering with the Monterey Peninsula Yacht Club for a day out on the beautiful waters of the Monterey Bay. Join experienced sailors to get a taste of what it’s like to sail in Monterey, and learn basic skills! Note: Basic swimming ability is required to join this event as a safety measure.

Join us on March 27th at the the East Village Cafe as the sun sets and the feasting begins! The celebration will begin at 7:30pm and catered with Middle Eastern cuisine.

The event offers a chance to socialize and make new connections across programs. Following the meal, we’ll engage in playing board games and watching the musical “Come From Away”. “Neoliberal Encroachments: Indigenous Struggles Over Land Rights and the Environment in the Amazon Region” Presented by Dr. Ashli Berktay.

Dr. Asli Berktay, a historian of Latin American (and Atlantic World) Studies at Texas A&M International in Laredo. She is from Turkey and trained in Latin American History at Tulane University in New Orleans.

We warmly invite members of the MIIS community to join the Cyber Security Working Group for our Friday Afternoons “Cyber Hour with the CSWG” Sessions. Occurring every Friday afternoon from 2:00 to 3:00 PM both on our Monterey campus and virtually, the “Cyber Hour” sessions are spaces where we intend to gather as a community to practice our cyber and technical skills. This is a beginner-friendly workshop series with topics varying by week, from learning how to code, to understanding cyber-attack frameworks, among many others. Come learn an entire new skillset with us!
