Middlebury College Orchestra Spring Concert

The Middlebury College Orchestra, directed by Andrew Massey, performs a brand new composition by senior, Samuel Kudman. Svala’s Saga was inspired by the work of Kirsten Hoving, Charles A. Dana Professor of History of Art & Architecture whose photographs will be on display at the performance. Also featured: Chabrier’s Idylle from Suite Pastorale, and Beethoven’s Symphony No 4 in Bb. Mark Lavoie, Harmonica and Voice

Affiliate artist Mark Lavoie’s unique acoustic style is reminiscent of the late harmonica legend Sonny Terry, who was his mentor. With 44 years of performance history and more than 35 harmonicas in his case, Mark plays his vast, authentic blues repertoire with great range in this solo concert. Nightingales: Stories of Love through Nature and Song

Lisa Wooldridge ‘16 presents an evening of vocal music in partial fulfillment of Department of Music senior work. The program features arias, art songs, and lieder from the baroque period up through the modern period, and includes works by Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Debussy, Moore, and more. The performance is accompanied by Cynthia Huard and also features Annie Beliveau (‘18), Nimrod Sadeh (‘17.5), Mikaela Chang (‘19), Dan Frostman, and Betsy Killorin.
