This annual traditional program combines choral music, congregational singing, and the Biblical texts of the season. The celebratory community service features the Middlebury College Choir, performing under the direction of Jeffrey Buettner, and readings by students, faculty, and staff. George Matthew Jr. rings in the service with selections on the chapel carillon. Donations are collected for local charities.

Junya Iwata ‘19, a piano student of Diana Fanning, will perform a solo piano recital—a culmination of his independent study work. Works by Debussy, Schubert, and Chopin. Sponsored by the Department of Music. Free

The Heliand Consort, with affiliate artist Cynthia Huard, presents an exploration of three of the greatest musical minds of the Romantic era through music performance and dramatic readings of their correspondence. Music by Robert Schumann, Clara Wieck-Schumann, and Johannes Brahms describes one of the most intriguing love triangles in music history. Free

Join affiliate artist Dayve Huckett and music professor Peter Hamlin, Fiona Sullivan ’19, and community musicians Ron White and Chris Robbins for an evening of classic popular songs and folk music from around the world. The concert features unconventional arrangements but always fun combinations of guitar, mandola, accordion, bass, and gourd banjo. Free
