Staff Council invites all Middlebury staff members to an open meeting. It is the role of Staff Council to make Middlebury a better place to work. We can do so by hearing what’s on your mind and knowing what we need to prioritize in our work. Please join all Staff Council representatives for an hour-long open meeting in Wilson and on Zoom.

Calling all Cookie-loving staff!

Join your colleagues for a holiday cookie swap! You can drop off cookies between 9:30am-12pm in Axinn 229 and Staff Council will arrange them on plates we’ll provide. Swapping will happen from 12-1pm. Please bring your own container!

Please label your ingredients to indicate any allergens or lack thereof.

To participate, bring (clean) clothes, shoes, and/or accessories you’re looking to swap. We’ll bring the clothing racks, hangers, and refreshments! Come a little early if you have a lot of contributions to organize and please stay until the end if you want to keep your unclaimed clothing. Otherwise, Staff Council will take care of donating whatever remains to a local organizations. Professional clothing will be passed on to CCI for students preparing for interviews and internships.

Join Staff Council for Cans for Cups: a food drive benefitting HOPE and our neighbors across Addison County! Stop by the Grille in McCullough on Tuesday, December 12th between 7:30am-9am or on Thursday, December 14th between 11:30-2pm to drop off your donations and enjoy a cup of coffee or hot cocoa as a thank you. Feel free to bring your own cup. Can’t make it? Collection boxes will be out from December 11th-15th in Old Chapel, Bi Hall, Davis Family Library, and at 700 Exchange Street.

What is civility, exactly? How can we foster civility in a vibrant college community with wide-ranging opinions, yet make meaningful progress on issues we care about? James Davis, Professor of Religion and author of “In Defense of Civility”, will host an open conversation. Please bring your lunch and join in.

Middlebury’s Digital Scholarship Working Group is helping faculty and students engage scholarship in new ways through MiddLab. What is MiddLab? What is digital scholarship, anyway?
