Mr. Binkley is the Command Historian for the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center at the Presidio of Monterey. He first arrived at the Presidio in 2007 after working several years for the National Park Service. Binkley also held research positions at Stanford University and the Middlebury Institute of International Studies (MIIS).  He is a graduate of San Francisco State University, MIIS, and the University of Denver.

Talk with Simon Berdino of LLNL

Simon is an Export Licensing and Nonproliferation Analyst with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory’s (LLNL) Nonproliferation and Arms Control Team (NPAC). Before NPAC, Simon worked as a Special Security Officer with the LLNL Field Intelligence Element and spent six years with the U.S. Army as an All-Source Intelligence Analyst. Simon holds a B.A. in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration degree from CSU Stanislaus. Join us on Friday, April 18, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. to learn more about Simon and the work he does with LLNL!

RSA Conference 2025 College Day

The Cyber Collaborative, in partnership with Cyber Security Working Group and Financial Crime Club, is supporting a trip to the RSA Conference College Day in San Francisco on 1 May 2025. This is the largest cybersecurity conference in the world and a great opportunity to learn more about the cybersecurity industry through direct engagement with top-tier professionals. Transportation is provided and entry to the conference for college students and participating staff/faculty is free!

Old Monterey Foundation Lecture Series

Big Sur: The Way It Was” is the first major documentary made about Big Sur, it’s natural beauty, artistic community, encounter culture ways. It includes interviews with writers, artists, and intellectuals, such as Henry Miller, Eric Barker, Emil White, Harry Dick Ross, and Ephraim Donner as well as hippies, musicians, bikers, hitchhikers, tourists, and your everyday rugged individualist who call Big Sur home. It was filmed and produced by Robert Blaisdell, a native filmmaker of the Monterey Peninsula, who shot the footage of Big Sur and its inhabitants throughout the 1960s.
