Virtual MiddleburyOpen to the Public

The Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs program on Global Health and Medicine presents Katherine Mayall who will be discussing “Abortion Rights in the U.S.: A Global Comparative Perspective.”
How does abortion access in the United States compare to the rest of the world? The Center for Reproductive Rights tracks the legality of abortion worldwide through its World Abortion Laws Map, showing the overwhelming trend toward greater protections for abortion rights. In this talk, Katy Mayall, Director of Strategic Initiatives at the Center for Reproductive Rights, will provide an overview of the legal status of abortion worldwide, situate the current context in the U.S. within global trends on abortion legality and access, and discuss the human rights implications of abortion restrictions and other barriers to abortion access.
