Movement Matters - Movement to Message - Yayoi Kambara

Yayoi Kambara is a multi-hyphenate artist working in dance as a critical form of expression. The Movement to Message class will include a full body warm-up and movement phrases and shares how movement can form a rigorous definition of identity. Kambara will share her current research of Yes!,  a project on consent premiering this Fall in San Francisco, and Japanese American Folk Dances (obon dances). The class will create and dissect how movement performs metaphor and whether it achieves its intended impact for contemporary audiences.
