Understanding and Managing Climate Risk

The Rohatyn Center for Global Affairs program on Global Economics presents Frances Moore and her discussion “Understanding and Managing Climate Risk” via Zoom webinar.
Climate change will affect almost every aspect of human well-being in every country, throughout the 21st century. But there are many policy tools and technologies available to manage that risk, through both adaptation to a changing climate and mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions. This talk will describe statistical and modeling work to understand the global risks of climate change, particularly via effects on agriculture and ecological systems, as well as the how adaptation and mitigation strategies might be able to manage that risk.
Frances C. Moore is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy at UC Davis, working at the intersection of environmental economics and climate science. Her research seeks to improve our understanding of the economic and social impacts of climate change and to better understand our ability to adapt to those impacts.
