Jackson Yang ’17 will review what Business Intelligence is, why it’s important, and the power of modern analytics. This will include covering the skills and knowledge sets, both formal and informal, that contribute to a successful career in BI, as well as what the regular responsibilities and work of a BI Analyst at a larger tech company include.

Rachel Liddell ‘15 will speak about the state of AI in IBM’s Watson program, the functional elements involved, the types of entry-level roles that would be perfect for liberal arts majors, and the skill sets that help when first starting in the industry.

Consultants are problem solvers, innovators, teachers, lawyers, advisors, designers, artists. Consultants practice these talents and skills in a wide array of disciplines and consulting sectors, including: strategy, economic, public sector, healthcare, non-profit, brand consulting and the list goes on. When it comes to consulting, there is a broad variety of ways to pursue your interests and find outlets for your abilities; very much aligned with a liberal arts education.

This workshop will focus on what case interviews are about, why they are important to certain consulting firms in their selection process, and how to prepare for them. This is an important session to attend if you are interested in pursuing consulting opportunities with strategy, management, and select other consultancies. It will also be a precursor for the Summer Case Buddy Program.
