Learn about internships, volunteering and employment on and off campus this summer! The Student Employment Office will provide information about finding a job on campus, the costs of living on campus (including housing and food options), and important deadlines. The Center for Careers & internships will provide information on finding or creating an internship, the Center for Community Engagement will provide information on how to find an opportunity for volunteering and the Undergraduate Research Office will provide information on working as a summer research assistant.

Lecture by Executive Director, Dr. Laura Emiko Soltis Panel with Freedom University undocumented student leaders Based in Atlanta, Freedom University is inspired by the legacy of the Southern freedom school tradition. Freedom U. provides a tuition – free education, college application and scholarship assistance, and social movement leadership training to undocumented students banned from public higher education in Georgia. The mission of Freedom University is “to empower undocumented youth and fulfill their human right to education.” Freedom U.

The CCE sponsors funded summer internships in our local community! Privilege & Poverty Addison County internships are full-time, 10-week opportunities to aid local organizations in addressing issues of poverty in Addison County. This is a great way for students to collaborate with community partners and gain a deeper understanding of our community. For more information, check out go/addisoncountyintern.

Interested in community healthcare? Are you bilingual in Spanish and English? The Open Door Clinic provides medical care for individuals and families who are under-insured or without insurance. They seek volunteers to help with Spanish/English medical interpretation and as EMTs. Contact Christiane Kokubo at ckokubo@opendoormidd.org to receive a volunteer application and more information about the mandatory training.
