Are you interested in mentoring? Learning more about Addison County? Spending time with a child ages 6-12? Join Community Friends for a drop-in info session on Wednesday, January 11 from 5:00pm-6:30pm at the Center for Community Engagement at 20 Old Chapel Rd. Swing by with questions, to fill out an application, or just to learn more about the program!

Interested in the Charter House? Never heard of the Charter House? Come to the Charter House Atwater Dinner to enjoy delicious greek food and learn more about the Charter House which is an organization in town the provides free meals and shelter to those in need. Come and learn about how students can get involved! Anyone interested in learning more about the Charter House is welcome!

Boys and Girls Club of Vergennes Looking for Volunteers!

Join us for a Meet and Great with Boys and Girls Club of Vergennes’ new Program Director, Jessica Francese on Tuesday, April 12 from 4:30-5 pm at the CE Conference Room (118 South Main). She will share the needs of the Club with students who have interest in working with youth and families, and sharing teachable activities and skills with Club students. Snacks will be provided! What About Summer?

Learn about internships, volunteering and employment on and off campus this summer! The Student Employment Office will provide information about finding a job on campus, the costs of living on campus (including housing and food options), and important deadlines. The Center for Careers & internships will provide information on finding or creating an internship, the Center for Community Engagement will provide information on how to find an opportunity for volunteering and the Undergraduate Research Office will provide information on working as a summer research assistant.

The Dream After DACA: A Conversation with Freedom University

Lecture by Executive Director, Dr. Laura Emiko Soltis Panel with Freedom University undocumented student leaders Based in Atlanta, Freedom University is inspired by the legacy of the Southern freedom school tradition. Freedom U. provides a tuition – free education, college application and scholarship assistance, and social movement leadership training to undocumented students banned from public higher education in Georgia. The mission of Freedom University is “to empower undocumented youth and fulfill their human right to education.” Freedom U.
