MiddChallenge Pitch Competition

Have an idea for a project or business? Is there a problem you want to solve or an artistic piece you wish to create? Spend this summer taking your idea to the next level and get the funding to do it. MiddCHALLENGE is here to help you turn your idea into reality.

The Competition:
MiddCHALLENGE is accepting proposals in which you explain the inspiration and/or viability of your idea or business. The competition categories include: 1) Business and Technology 2) Social Impact 3) Arts 4) Sustainability

FFW 2017: MiddCORE Informational Session

MiddCORE is Middlebury’s mentor-driven leadership and innovation immersion program which builds skills and confidence through collaborative, experiential, impact-focused learning. Through daily, weekly, and month-long challenges, students gain experience in leadership, strategic thinking, idea creation, collaboration, persuasive communication, ethical decision making, cross-cultural understanding, conflict resolution, empathy, and crisis management. Students can apply to take MiddCORE in January on Middlebury’s Vermont campus or in the summer on the shores of Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

Leadership, creative thought, and intellectual risk taking—these are the skills CCISE helps Middlebury students develop through a multitude of opportunities on and off campus. The center includes MiddCORE, social entrepreneurship programs, and creativity and innovation programs. These programs provide opportunities for students to try new things, develop creative ideas, and learn to engage our local community and the world.

Come to hear his story of how he started two successful music businesses, Pigtronix and Supro, growing both into global masterpieces before selling them in 2020 and how he then became a member of the EO (Entrepreneur’s Organization). He brings his expertise and advice on how to successfully navigate this ever-changing world and his next big project…See you there!

Trauma Work and Self Care with Dr. Meagan Corrado

Participants in this zoom training session will learn about compassion satisfaction, compassion fatigue, secondary trauma, vicarious trauma, and burnout. Participants are exposed to various self-care strategies including body awareness, mental imagery, self-understanding, self-talk, creative play, supervision and peer support, arrangement of the physical work space, and boundaries. This training includes reflective exercises, guided activities, and didactic material.
