The Practice of Compassion

This group will explore self-compassion and compassion for others in the context of shared human challenges, struggles, and setbacks. Through group conversation and directed practices, we seek to enhance our openness to the joys and sufferings of life, with growing appreciation for what we offer to the world, and for what we receive.

Meet Up - Study Abroad: Returning Students

This one time “meet up” is offered to all students returning to Middlebury College following a study abroad trip from the previous summer or semester.  This “meet up” is an opportunity for reflection and time to talk about your experience with other students who are also returning to campus.  Discussions may include both rewarding and challenging experiences while studying abroad, what it is like to transition back to campus, reuniting with friends, and various other topics that might feel specific to you as someone who studied abroad.

Study Abroad: Preparing for Your Adventure

This one time “meet up” is offered to all students preparing to study abroad this coming semester or summer.  This “meet up” is an opportunity to share thoughts, questions, concerns you might have as you prepare for this life transition.  Discussions may include maintaining connections with friends, living in a new place, and balancing this transition with your academics.

Relaxation through Yoga & Mindfulness

Members will learn skills that enable them to reduce stress and anxiety and strengthen their ability to experience the present moment with compassion and non-judgment. The group will begin with mindfulness exercises followed by gentle yoga postures to assist with relaxation, restoration and renewal. No previous experience in yoga and mindfulness skills needed.

Please bring a yoga mat and cushion. Limited yoga mats will be available.
