Goldwater Scholarship Info Session

First-years and sophomores, join Goldwater President John Mateja and Goldwater Scholars Jea Adams, Amherst ‘21, Jing He, Middlebury ‘16, and Liam Taylor, Bowdoin ‘20 for a conversation about the Goldwater Scholarship, STEM research careers, and how to prepare yourself now to be strong candidate in the future. The Goldwater Foundation provides scholarships to undergraduates who plan to pursue research careers in science, math and engineering. Students can apply for nomination for the scholarship in the fall of their sophomore and junior years.

Responding to Student Writing: A Workshop on Writing Feedback - A Lunch-Time Discussion

Commenting on student writing can be challenging and time consuming but is critical to student development. Come join Writing and Rhetoric faculty to discuss challenges, opportunities, and ways to give effective and expeditious feedback. Because this is a workshop, we invite you to bring student writing, previous feedback, or other materials to share. This session will be facilitated by Writing and Rhetoric faculty Genie Giaimo and James Chase Sanchez.

Fulbright provides a year of funding for 2022-2023 for activities including graduate study, independent research, and English teaching assistant positions. Join Fulbright program staff and Dean Lisa Gates to learn about the Fulbright scholarship program, the application process, and updates for next year. We’ll have a large group session with a breakout room discussion with Dean Gates for Middlebury students and alumni about Middlebury’s application process. Middlebury’s preliminary application deadline is April 15.
