What challenges face women in the workplace? … Middlebury Women Leaders present: A Panel Discussion with peer students who have had experience in a variety of industries from health professions, STEM careers, consulting, education, entrepreneurship to arts and media.

Emerge Vermont is the premier training program for Democratic women interested in running for office. Emerge recruits, trains, and inspires women to run for office, and creates a powerful network to support them in their efforts. Founded in 2013 by former Governor Madeleine Kunin and a group of women in politics, Emerge Vermont has trained over 50 women to run for office. The organization is part of a national network with affiliates in 17 states that have trained over 2,000 women to run for office.

Sarah Kaeck is a local Vermont entrepreneur, gardener, and mother who has developed a sustainable alternative to plastic wrap using beeswax. She is coming to Midd to share her story of developing a new business and to answer YOUR questions about entrepreneurship, life, and managing a growing company.

Being part of a team is not a passive role. Teams are not created by external forces – teams create teams. And active collaboration and leadership skills from each member are needed to make this happen. In this workshop you will learn about your personal leadership strengths, discover the power of teams, and build your own ‘teaming’ skills for contributing to any team you are part of. Mary Hurlie, founder and principal of LeaderScope Consulting, has been an organizational consultant and leadership coach for over 30 years.
