The Junior League of Monterey County is holding a resume workshop on MIIS campus. Mary Jeanne Vincent is a Career Expert and Strategist. Her expertise enables clients to cut through the career noise and achieve their goals. She also writes Career Talk, a bi-weekly print and online column highlighting the latest career strategies, employment trends and notable business professionals.

Celebrate the global MIIS network! Third Thursdays with MIIS is a tradition that started in April of 2014 in Washington, D.C., as a reoccurring event series that is easy to organize, fun to attend and ensures regular gatherings of Institute alumni and friends in that chapter or group’s region. Third Thursdays Happy Hour (TTHH) events are held at a new venue each month and are cash-bar events where guests are responsible for purchasing their food and beverages of choice. Of course, these take place the third Thursday of each month.

Language Careers at the UN: The Hitchhiker's guide

Alumna Sabela Avion-Martinez MATI ‘01 will present an overview of language careers at the UN, including the recruitment and examination process and some day-to-day insight into the work at different duty stations. Sabela joined the United Nations nine years ago after a short but intense stint in the US private market. Her career began and headquarters in New York, and then took her to Geneva for four years. Sabela now lives back in New York where she is working as a reviser since July 2014. Sabela is actively involved in the CAT project with eLUNa.
