The MIIS Veterans Club is hosting a beach BBQ on Veterans day this year. We will be located at the park near the Monterey Beach House, where the volleyball court is along the rec trail. We are going to have a bunch of grills out and some food and drink, but the BBQ will be an open to the public potluck style event. Feel free to bring whatever and whoever you want!

TSC SPECIAL EVENT--The Paris Attacks: exploring the triad of refugees, terrorism, and ISIS

The security risks posed by a protracted fight with ISIS converged on November 13th in the first large-scale terrorist attack in Paris, killing 129 people and injuring over 300. Experts had been warning of the possibility that terrorists could pose as refugees in order to carry out attacks in the West, of inter-European terrorist cells coordinating cross-border attacks, and of the growing incidence of homegrown terrorists—the attacks in Paris had facets of each.
