Film Screening of “Opening the Earth: The Potato King,” made in collaboration with the Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development, showcasing a Peruvian guardian of biodiversity and his quest to preserve the indigenous potato varieties of the Andes. ODRC Fall Camping Trip

The ODRC will be leading a two-night camping trip in Big Basin State Park. The weekend will be filled with plenty of opportunities for hiking, exploring, and relaxing in the redwoods. ODRC leaders will arrange transportation, campsite reservations, and meals, but participants need to pay a trip fee of $30/each to cover those expenses. Sign-ups will be on a first-come, first-served basis and will be made available to club members via email and Facebook.

The Nuclear Policy Club is excited to present Dr. Vincent Intondi author of the book, African Americans Against the Bomb: Nuclear Weapons, Colonialism, and the Black Freedom Movement. Dr. Intondi will speak to the history of African Americans against the use of nuclear weapons and the links between the fight for racial equality and nuclear disarmament.

The MIIS Nuclear Triad (Nuclear Policy, INMM, and CTBTO Youth Group) invites you to join us for a welcome session for new and returning members! We will be providing an overview of each club’s plans for the semester including speaker events, social activities and trips. We have an exciting schedule planned already including trips to Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, the Nevada National Security Site (atomic testing site) and also a Nuclear Wargaming simulation. This is a great chance for students and staff from all faculties to collaborate and network on nuclear issues.
