Join us for the African Nations Club general meeting. This meeting will feature a student panel leading us in Part II of our discussion of Black Panther.

First meeting of the semester. Come learn more about the African Nations Club, hear some African music, meet new friends and see what we have planned for this year!

“A Life of Service”; An interview with Dr. William Green, Minister Counselor (retired), US Dept. of State, Office of Medical Services hosted jointly by TSC and WIIS Club. Recipient of the Diplomatic Security Service Director’s Award (2001) for contribution to the development of the WMD Program used worldwide to protect US Embassies and domestic diplomatic facilities. Dr. Green served with the US Dept. of State from 1999-2015 in locations such as Nigeria, Serbia, Austria, Afghanistan, and Washington DC.

Come and meet one of Forbes’ 30 under 30 Entrepreneurs in a discussion about how a placement with the Peace Corps turned into a multi-million dollar business. A discussion with the founders of Kuli Kuli foods will be followed with light refreshments and moringa products for purchase.

Did you know Monterey County tops the United States with the highest percentage of deportation cases? Immigration Attorney and local activist Blanca Zarazua will present on the state of local immigration issues and present Obama’s Deferred Action legislation. Event is open to the MIIS and open Monterey community. Those eligible to apply for Deferred Action are especially welcomed to attend.

Enjoy refreshments while conversing about an important issue and informing your vote! Meet policy makers, advocates, educators and attorneys to learn more about the two ballot propositions regarding the death penalty and participate in interactive sessions about the death penalty debate. $5 entrance fee will go back into Amnesty funds. Location: Campisi Financial Services, on the corner of Franklin and Pacific
