Sarah Laursen, Curator of Asian art and assistant professor of History of Art & Architecture, discusses the history of the Museum’s Reiff Gallery and its Asian art collection, as well as future directions in collecting and upcoming exhibitions.

Roo Weed ’18.5 is a senior Physics major. As the Reiff Intern at the Middlebury College Museum of Art, she has designed and created a digital interface for displaying the collection of Greek and Roman coins in the Antiquities Gallery. Free

While relatively few voices publicly questioned the prohibition against women voting in the decades following the country’s founding, most Americans did not wholeheartedly consider this question until the last century. This exhibit of vintage photographs, banners, and memorabilia coincides with the 100th anniversary of the campaign to ratify the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920. Free

This exhibition takes an intimate look at the work of renowned photographer James P. Blair, who for more than 35 years photographed the world for the National Geographic Society. Free

As part of her Reiff Internship, Jill Stauffer, Architectural Studies ’19, will discuss her display of architectural images and related materials drawn from the permanent collection that are displayed at the museum’s balcony gallery. The talk will be followed by light refreshments and a visit to the museum to view the exhibition.
