Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw sings with Roomful of Teeth, plays violin with the American Contemporary Music Ensemble, has composed and performed with Kanye West, and recently appeared on the Amazon TV series “Mozart in the Jungle.” Join Shaw as she discusses blurring genre boundaries and collaboration in music making. The College Choir performs selections for their tour to Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in May-June 2018.

Hamilton Pinheiro, an acclaimed bassist and music producer from Brasilia, will offer a lecture/demonstration on a variety of Brazilian genres in jazz. Focusing on the samba and bossa nova, the session will also include genres less common to American jazz musicians, including Choro, Baião, Partido Alto and Ijexá.
