Swing Dancing Club

Come learn how to swing dance with us! Want to learn how to dance but never had the opportunity? Now you do! Feel free to join us anytime throughout the semester, and learn how to partner dance to big band jazz music! We’ll be teaching beginners lessons from 7:30-8:30, and then swing dancers of all levels are invited to a free dance from 8:30-9:30. Snacks and good company provided! Come enjoy performances, lessons, and delicious food with the Swing Dance Club! Watch experienced members show off their skills and then learn some of those skills for yourself! Donations are encouraged to benefit the United Way of Addison County.

Come join us for an evening of Latin dancing following the salsa/swing show! There will be salsa, bachata, cumbia, reggaeton, and merengue music and dancing until 1!

Join the Swing and Salsa Clubs for a collaborative performance showcasing the various partner and ballroom dances (with a special opening performance from On Tap)! The various swing dance styles originated and were popularized throughout the early 20th century in places such as Harlem, Charleston, and Los Angeles. The Swing Club will be performing dances in Lindy Hop, East Coast, and Charleston styles, as well as classic solo jazz routines. The Salsa Club will be performing two salsa pieces, a bachata piece, and a sensual bachata piece.

Join the Middlebury Swing Club and enjoy a night of jazz music played by Gerry Grimo and the East Bay Jazz Ensemble! We begin the night with a Beginner Swing Dance lesson, no experience or partner necessary. Bring your dancing shoes or just come enjoy snacks, company, and great music, but either way it’ll be a great night! Free for all, community members are welcome.
