Caroline began her career in book publishing, working in the editorial department of W.W. Norton in her native New York City. After moving to Burlington, Vermont, she worked for several area advertising and marketing firms as a copywriter and creative services manager. She then joined the staff of Eating Well magazine where she served as associate editor.

She brought her editorial skills to Saint Michael’s College, where she developed, launched, and edited the college alumni magazine for 15 years. As Saint Michael’s director of college and institutional advancement publications, she created and implemented the college’s publication management system, directed Institutional Advancement communications for the Visions Campaign, and built a new communications and marketing publications program for the Office of Admission.

With her parenting days now (mostly) behind her, Caroline travels as often as possible with her husband, Brian. She is a deacon at First Congregational Church of Burlington and volunteers with Local Motion and the Burlington Farmer’s Market. She earned her B.A. in English from Goucher College, where she is currently a student in their master’s in digital communications program.

At Middlebury since 2016, Caroline’s passion for higher education marketing and communications continues. She has served as a speechwriter for Middlebury’s president, created communications and marketing materials for advancement, undergraduate and graduate admissions, the Bread Loaf School of English, the Language Schools, and the C.V. Starr Schools Abroad. She also serves as managing editor of Middlebury Magazine and is the current president of the Middlebury Staff Council.
