Mark Spence

Mark D. Spence ’98 is the dean of student engagement at Noble and Greenough School in Dedham, Massachusetts, where he has been a teacher, counselor, director of counseling, and coach of the soccer and ice hockey teams. Upon graduating from Middlebury College, where he played on four NCAA Division III national championship hockey teams and was National Division III Player of the Year in 1998, Spence played professional hockey for three years. Afterward he returned to Middlebury for two years as an admissions officer and assistant men’s hockey coach. Spence holds a master’s degree in mental health counseling and behavioral medicine from Boston University and worked professionally as a clinician for Child and Family Services in New Bedford, Massachusetts, prior to joining Noble and Greenough in 2007.
