My name is Barbara and I use she/her pronouns. I grew up in western Massachusetts and moved to Vermont to work in college health. I identify as a White, queer, woman who is a first-generation college student and lives with disabilities.

I have worked as a health educator with people of all ages in a variety of settings including pharmacies, migrant farmworker communities, birthing people and infants, and most importantly, college students. I received my Master’s in Public Health in community health education from the University of Massachusetts and have kept on learning by completing certificates in LGBTQ health, healthcare leadership, change management, and equity and inclusion. I joined Middlebury in 2013 and have more recently transitioned from Health and Wellness Education to providing administrative leadership for the Center for Health and Wellness where I focus on systems approaches to health equity and access. I am proud to work with all the Center’s offices including Counseling, Health Services, Health and Wellness Education, Integrated Care, and Sports Medicine.

I am committed to meeting all members of our community where they are when it comes to health topics, to prioritizing staff development especially around equity and identities work, and to championing peer education, advocacy, and policy development.

Things that currently bring me joy include exploring and taking care of my 1850s farmhouse, my fur babies, watercolor painting, and experimenting in the kitchen.
