Sandy joined Middlebury College Health Services in December 2015 with responsibility for managing the daily operations while maintaining a part-time clinical practice.  In October of 2020, Sandy was appointed the Director of Health Services and played an instrumental role in management of the Covid 19 pandemic response on campus.

Sandy received an RN diploma from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in Utica, New York; a BS from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Technology (now known as SUNY Polytechnic Institute); and MS from Syracuse University. After over 25 years in health care administration, Sandy returned to the University of Vermont for a post-master’s certificate and became certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as an Adult-Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. Clinical practice experience prior to coming to the Parton Health Service includes Urgent Care and Primary Care practice in Franklin County, Vermont.

Sandy enjoys supporting college students in navigating health care as independent young adults. She uses shared decision making routinely in managing patient care, encouraging students to take an active role in choosing an appropriate treatment plan.

Sandy lives with her family in Orwell, spending every moment available at their property on Lake Dunmore. Swimming and kayaking are favorite summer activities.

Sandy is an active member of the Vermont Nurse Practitioners Association (VNPA) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
