Research-Based Assignments and Information Literacy
Librarians can help your students successfully prepare for and engage with your research-based assignments, and they can help you devise assignments that maximize student learning, too. Information Literacy encompasses a broad array of skills including finding information, appreciating its value, and understanding the way in which information is used to create knowledge over time. When you’re developing assignments to help students hone their information literacy skills, ask your librarian for suggestions, and collaborate with your librarian to design workshops and library visits that ensure students can build their research on a strong foundation of credible and relevant sources.
