Support the Bread Loaf Conferences
The Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference is the oldest of its kind in America. Since 1926, it has convened at Middlebury’s Bread Loaf campus in Ripton, Vermont.
Seven to ten days of workshops, lectures, classes, and readings provide writers with rigorous practical and theoretical approaches to their craft. Talented writers and distinguished faculty, agents, and editors from major publishing houses and literary firms convene for the conference each August.
Impact
The conference provides a stimulating community in which more than 250 participants test their assumptions about literature and seek advice about their progress as writers from renowned literary mentors. Many participants go on to achieve literary success and recognition, and others pass on their experiences at Bread Loaf to their own writing students. Middlebury undergraduates are eligible to apply to attend the conference.

Robert Frost Writer in Residence Fund
This honors the legacy of Robert Frost at Middlebury by providing financial support for an emerging or established writer to teach and write in Middlebury’s undergraduate and graduate writing programs.
Robert Frost Farm Fund and Cabin Preservation Fund
This helps secure and maintain Robert Frost’s cabin, where he spent his summers in Ripton and wrote many memorable works.
