Is there a registration deadline?

Yes. Reunion registration opens in early March, and the online registration deadline is in mid-May.

How much does Reunion cost?

Reunion 2020 rates will be announced in March. 

What if I don’t register before the deadline?

If you miss the Reunion registration deadline, you may register once you arrive on campus. Walk-in registration will be held in the Crest Room on the second floor of the McCullough Student Center. Please note that housing options will be limited by this time.

What if I need to cancel my reservation?

Cancellations will be refunded until mid-May.

Are non-Reunion classes invited?

Yes, alumni who are not part of an official Reunion class but would like to attend are welcome to do so. Off-year alumni should indicate they are celebrating with the Reunion class closest to their own class year.

I may be arriving late on Friday night. Will I be able to get into my room?

Your class headquarters will be staffed as follows:

5th-20th until midnight
25th-45th until 11 p.m.
50th until 5 p.m.
55th-75th until 8 p.m.

If you arrive after hours, go to the Crest Room if before midnight; after midnight, call Public Safety at 802-443-5133.

How do I update my contact information?

To receive the latest news, please click here to update your contact information. The majority of Reunion information is sent via email, so please make sure we have your correct email address.

Are spouses/partners/significant others/kids invited?

Absolutely! We encourage returning alumni to bring their entire families. All activities and programs are open to anyone who is on campus for the weekend.

I have kids—are there activities for them?

There will be a variety of kid-friendly activities throughout the weekend. Please check the Reunion schedule for the most up-to-date information.

Are there childcare options for younger children?

Middlebury does not provide childcare services. For information about childcare, please visit or

What about teens?

Drop-in activities for teens will be offered Saturday night from 6:00–11:00 p.m. in the Mahaney Arts Center. Children ages 11 and older are welcome to hang out or watch a movie. Pizza and beverages will be served. This is a drop-in/drop-out event; teens are welcome to come and go as they please. Parents will be required to sign a waiver.

Where will I stay on campus?

Each class will have its own headquarters and will be housed in the same dormitory whenever possible. Most dorms consist of shared baths and rooms with one or two single beds. Each attendee registered for on-campus housing will be provided with a set of sheets and towels, a blanket, and a pillow. Attendees are encouraged to bring additional pillows, blankets, or other amenities such as fans, alarm clocks, a reading light or headlamp, etc.

Are there housing options off campus?

On-campus housing is available to alumni and their guests. We encourage all returning alumni and their families to stay on campus so that they can enjoy the full Middlebury experience, easily meet up with friends, and explore all that the College has to offer.

However, if you wish to stay off campus, you can find lodging options here. 

I am staying on campus. What should I bring?
  • The dress code for Reunion weekend is comfortable and casual. We suggest that you bring an umbrella and pack appropriate clothing just in case we have wet weather. Also, the evenings can be chilly, so please bring a jacket or sweater. 
  • Don’t forget to bring your Gamaliel Painter cane so that you can Tap! Tap! Tap! during Convocation. 
Are the rooms air conditioned? Do they have private bathrooms?

Rooms are not air conditioned. The majority of the dorm rooms do NOT have private bathrooms. They are the same dormitories that you remember from your years as a student—communal bathrooms and all!

Do I need an access card? How do I use it?

All Reunion guests are issued an access card when they check in at their class headquarters that allows them access to dorms. For security reasons, the main entrances to all residence halls have been equipped with a card reader system. Simply place your card on the reader to unlock the entrance.

Will I have telephone and Internet access?

Yes. Details will be available in your reunion program, which you will receive upon arrival.

Can my pet stay with me in on-campus housing?

Pets are not allowed in college housing. Pets are allowed on the campus grounds, but not in campus buildings unless you have a medical need. Please look for local kennels, or speak to local hotels/rentals about pet accommodations.

I have some particular needs related to accessibility. What should I do?

Middlebury College is committed to making its campus accessible to persons with disabilities. However, not all areas of campus are fully accessible. Individuals who have accessibility questions should contact the Alumni and Parent Programs Office at 802-443-5183 or Please do this as soon as you register so that we can make arrangements in a timely manner. 

I'm bringing my family and we want to stay on campus. How will we be housed?

Most dorm beds are extra-long twins. If you are bringing a child five years old or younger, feel free to bring a pack ’n play or air mattress. Children five and under may sleep in your room without incurring a fee (as they will not be using a campus bed). We do not split up families, but as many of our dorm rooms are singles, families may be housed in rooms next to one another. How do I get to campus?

Here are some links that you might find helpful in your search for transportation:

By Car: Check Google Maps for directions. Use the 139 South Main Street, Middlebury, VT 05753 address as your destination.

By AirBurlington International Airport offers a variety of car rentals. If you prefer a car service from the airport you can contact Middlebury Transit (802.388.3838), which offers individual or group transport. There are no direct flights from Boston to Burlington, but Cape Air flies from Boston to Rutland.

By Train: Amtrak trains may be accessed at five points near Middlebury: Port Henry, NY; Ticonderoga, NY; Rutland, VT; Castleton, VT; and Essex Junction, VT.

By Bus: Greyhound offers service to Burlington, Vermont.

What if the weather is bad?

Some events may be moved inside, but in traditional Panther spirit, many of our Reunion celebrations will continue rain or shine. Please note that in the case of emergencies or schedule changes, you can receive the latest updates from from the Middlebury App, which you can find in the app store.

Where do alumni go when they arrive on campus?

If you registered prior to your arrival on campus, your first stop will be your class headquarters (see “What is a ‘Headquarters’” in the miscellaneous section below). At check-in, you will receive your name tag (which serves as your meal ticket at all meals), your room key or code, and other class and event information.

If you did not register prior to arriving on campus, go first to the Crest Room in McCullough Student Center to register and get your housing assignment.

Is parking available on campus?

Please park only in designated faculty, staff, or visitor parking spaces. Handicap-accessible spaces are also available. You will receive a parking pass for your car when you check in at your class headquarters.

If I can’t park close to my housing, how do I unload my bags?

During drop-off times, you may briefly unload your suitcases at your headquarters but you cannot leave your car in any designated No Parking area. For instance, for those who are registering at Gifford or Hepburn, cars cannot be left along Hepburn Road. During registration, you will be directed to designated  parking areas, and shuttles will be available to bring you back to your headquarters.

Will there be on-campus transportation?

We will have vans and golf carts available for those who need on-campus transportation assistance. We also have a regular shuttle service circulating the campus on Friday (10 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and Saturday (9 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.).

Can I attend for a part of the weekend?

How can I find out if someone from my class is coming?

Click on the "attendee list" link on your registration form landing page for a list of all alumni who have registered for Reunion.

Does the cost of attending reunion count as a reunion gift?

It doesn’t. Middlebury actually subsidizes a good portion of the weekend for alumni. The cost of Reunion includes housing, events, meals, open bars on Friday and Saturday nights, and entertainment.

What counts toward our class gift and toward our class participation goal?

Gifts of any size to any area of the College count toward the class gift totals and the class participation goal. We encourage you to consider stretching your gift this year beyond what you might normally give in a nonreunion year. To learn more, please be in touch with a reunion committee member or your staff liaison.

What is True Blue?

The True Blue Society recognizes Middlebury's most loyal donors—those who make a gift to Middlebury for the past three consecutive years or more. Whether a gift is $10 or $10,000, consistent support is a measure of alumni satisfaction, an important factor when foundations and corporations are considering Middlebury grant requests.

What is the 1800 Society?

The 1800 Society recognizes those who support Middlebury at a leadership level of $2,500 or more. Society members are invited to special events, including a reception at Reunion.

What do I need to know for my 25th Reunion?

Should I plan on a cash bar or free drinks?

Drinks, including wine and beer, are included at dinners. In some instances, Friday late night bars will require a cash payment.

Please note that due to state laws, alumni and guests are not allowed to bring their own alcoholic beverages to College events.

Will the College Bookstore be open during Reunion?

The College Bookstore is open throughout the weekend and is pleased to offer the following special discounts:

  • 20 percent discount for the 5–20th reunion classes
  • 25 percent discount for the 25–45th reunion class
  • 30 percent discount for 50th and above

Thursday–Saturday 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

What are student hosts’ duties?

Each class will be greeted by current students who are assigned as hosts for the weekend. They will be housed in your dorm, dine with the class, and help guide you throughout the weekend. They are also happy to answer any questions you have about the campus and what it’s like to be a student at Middlebury today. Please take a minute to introduce yourself to your hosts!

What is a “headquarters” and what happens there?

Each class is assigned a headquarters—generally, it will be a room or lounge in the dorm in which your class will be staying. This is where you will check in to get your registration packet, key code or room key if you are staying on campus, and your name tag. This will also be the central location for gathering and getting information.

Generally on Friday and Saturday nights, your headquarters will be a comfortable place for pre- and post-dinner socializing. The headquarters is also the ideal spot to have a quiet conversation with friends, leave notes for classmates, look at old yearbooks, or just put your feet up for a while.

Will I be able to use the gym or other athletic facilities?

Middlebury’s athletic facilities are available for returning alumni and their guests. Guests must be at least 18 years of age to use the fitness center.
