Alumni play a vital role in keeping the Middlebury community strong for the students, parents, and each other. Here are some ways you can get involved—and stay involved—with Middlebury.
Reconnect – Get back in touch with professors, old friends, the campus and Vermont
- Update your personal information with the College
- Join your class reunion committee to help plan a great weekend
- Join Middlebury Class and Regional Facebook groups
- Call a professor and talk about ways his or her class influenced your career and life
- Share news and pictures with your class correspondents
- Become a Class Agent or class correspondent
- Come back to Vermont and visit campus
Shape – Help shape the future of Middlebury by getting involved in student admissions
- Sign up with the Alumni Admissions Program and conduct interviews with high school candidates
- Promote Middlebury with your local high school’s college guidance counselors, teachers, and coaches
- Represent Middlebury at a high school college fair
- Talk up Middlebury to accepted students in your area
- Shape the life of a current student by donating to the Annual Fund
- Check out MiddSTART—a great way to support student projects
Advocate – Be a champion of the College within your community and with the general public
- Put a Middlebury bumper sticker on your car
- Wear Middlebury apparel around town, to your gym or even a local high school event
- Talk with your friends and their kids about Middlebury
- Hang your Middlebury degree on your office wall
- Share stories about Middlebury with alumni of other schools from which you graduated
- Talk up Middlebury’s commitment to sustainability
- Promote press-worthy achievements of Middlebury faculty
Advance – Help advance the career of Middlebury students and graduates
- Mentor and connect with students and alumni through Midd2Midd
- Sponsor an internship for a current student or alum
- Keep in touch with Middlebury’s Center for Careers & Internships about job opportunities at your organization
Educate – Take advantage of your lifelong relationship with Middlebury and continue to use its unmatched resources
- Attend Alumni College – annual four-day program at the end of summer at the Bread Loaf campus
- Attend a local MAA chapter event
- Read a book written by a Middlebury professor or alum
- Visit an exhibit at the Middlebury College Museum of Art
- Cheer on the Middlebury athletic teams
- Attend a faculty lecture or other event on campus
Involve – Help make a difference in your local Middlebury community and beyond
- Get involved in your local alumni chapter and volunteer your time
- Recommend alumni for the MAA Board
- Attend or organize a chapter event
- Recommend alumni for Alumni Achievement and Alumni Plaque Awards
- Vote for MAA Directors and Alumni Trustees in April
- Hold a neighborhood alumni get-together
- Host a Middlebury student who can't make it home for a holiday or break
- Visit a housebound alum and talk about your shared experiences
